How much does a new transmission for a 2002 Honda civic cost, with installation?

I have a 2002 honda civic with a manual transmission, I have a real strong feeling that the transmission is about to go. How much do you think a new one is going to cost with installation?|||The cost varies depending on which auto shop your getting serviced at. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're located in New Jersey? In that case a good place to start would be: http://www.autorepairinnewjersey.com/Cat鈥?/a> But, make sure the cost involved isn't anything larger than the sum of what your car is worth.

Good Luck!|||If you downshift a lot to slow down or frequently rev up your transmission above 8000 rpm, then your transmission gearbox is what may be getting worn down which can cost you.

Otherwise, all you may really need is to replace your clutch disc. Buy a clutch disc kit from your local auto parts store for about $100 and it should also come with a pressure plate and bearing. Then you can look around for shops with the best deal for installation labor.

Good luck!|||Find a remanufactured manual transaxle and price here (scroll down to your Civic):

Add to that the cost of about 6 hours labor for removal and re-installation plus the price of incidentals such as clutch and gear lube.|||Before you replace the transmission, have a transmission shop check for a burned or worn clutch.|||$2500.00
