What type of transmission fluid does my Honda Civic 1988 lx hatchback need?

It is an automatic and the transmission fluid is low, just wondering what type of fluid do I need to replace it?|||If I were you I'd put Authentic Honda Automatic Transmission fluid in. Other types with additives added sometimes cause erratic shifting etc.. Honda's fluid may cost more but in the long run you maybe saving yourself problems as well as headaches. Your transmission only takes 3 quarts when drained and filled.
